Self discovery and observation provide Danny Kirk with inspiration as he creates works that are confrontational yet pleasing to the senses. Much of Danny’s art focuses on various layers of information as he plays with the viewers understanding of themselves and the world around them. Social commentaries are represented through his use of various characters and faces as well as through the use of text. His finished works remain somewhat ambiguous and are generally left open for interpretation.

Danny Kirk is an emerging artist who was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary in 2007 where he specialized in painting. He has exhibited his paintings in a variety of venues through out the city of Calgary including: The Little Gallery, The Nickle Arts Museum, TRUCK Gallery, Davis and Company LLP, as well as in numerous community centers and private vendor locations. Danny’s work may now be found in collections all over Canada.
